The Man From Galilee

“He had no beauty or majesty,”
Isaiah once did say.
There was “nothing in His appearance”
That attracted us His way.

Yet crowds did throng about Him
With every chance to see
If only to catch one small glimpse
Of the man from Galilee.

Every morning He would steal away
And spend some time alone
With no one around to bother
As He approached His Father’s throne.

And talk they would until the dawn
Of a new day’s work ahead
With signs and wonders and miracles,
Or a simple breaking of the bread.

His compassion for the down and out
Was widely known back then.
If you wanted to find Jesus
Simply look for the ones in sin.

He arose early and stayed up late
And sometimes did not sleep
For there was always one more need,
Or appointment for Him to keep.

It seemed too short upon this earth
The time that he did spend
Yet when His work was finished
Everyone thought it was the end…

But no! It was just the beginning
Of a chance to be set free,
And through the power of His Holy Spirit
Walk with the man from Galilee.

Today He stands at your door knocking
Asking if you will open up
If you will simply invite Him in
He will enter to fellowship and sup!
