Gentle Breeze in Kansas

I bought this pattern in Kansas in 2008 because of a visit I made through Kansas and couldn’t help but notice the beautiful wildflowers and sunflowers blowing in the wind in the open fields. I pieced and quilted it in 2011 and entered it in the Lancaster County super fair. It was in the hand quilted section and the judges could not believe that it was not machine quilted because of the tiny echo stitching (row after row of hand stitches surrounding a flower). I had no idea what I was getting into and how it might turn out, but it worked!  I won first place and a blue ribbon!
