The night was filled with ginger and spice
\nAnd smells from the kitchen, oh were so nice,
\nThe fragrance of pine and essence of mint
\nBrought back the memories of a Christmas well spent.<\/p>\n
When the ringing of bells sounded in the hall
\nAnd instantly flashing back I did recall
\nThe voices of carolers singing \u201cNoel\u201d
\nAnd ending with Silent Night, what a story to tell.<\/p>\n
The taste of the cookies and the pies mom did bake
\nTopped off later with a piece of fruit cake,
\nThen the main dinner came with all of its grandeur
\nAnd the season of hmm hmm was easy to endure.<\/p>\n
The touch of the stocking made of red felt
\nReminded me still of the moment I knelt,
\nAnd saying my prayers on a Christmas Eve past,
\nI asked for a Christmas that would last, ever last.<\/p>\n
The sight of the manger brought tears to my eyes,
\nAs I remembered the story of His grand surprise.
\nThe story of a Savior who came to this earth
\nTo provide us all with a chance for new birth.<\/p>\n
The taste, the touch, the smell, the sight and the sound
\nMake Christmas a time of joy all around.
\nBut most important of all is the feeling
\nOf peace in our hearts, through God\u2019s plan revealing
\nHis son, His son, His only Son.<\/p>\n
