The sound of his voice rang clear in the forest
\nAs the Lord did call him by name
\nThe man responded with obedience and fear
\n\u201cHere I am Lord,\u201d the reply quickly came.<\/p>\n
\u201cDo not be afraid, I have a job for you,\u201d
\nThe lord thundered loudly that day,
\n\u201cI have need of a man that I can rely on,
\nA man who will watch and will pray.\u201d<\/p>\n
But Lord, I merely chop wood for a living.
\nI really won\u2019t know what to say,
\nSurely there\u2019s someone greater than me
\nAn apostle or a preacher to pray.<\/p>\n
You don\u2019t understand I have searched far and wide
\nFor a man who is willing to spend
\nA lifetime of listening and watching with me
\nA man who will simply begin.<\/p>\n
Now to the prayer that I want you to pray
\nIt is simple and easy to do.
\nEvery time that you cut a tree in the forest,
\nPull down a stronghold or two.<\/p>\n
Trust in the Holy Spirit each morning
\nAs He clearly will give you the names,
\nOf people afflicted with all kinds of issues
\nFor the enemy has bound them in chains.<\/p>\n
Take up your ax and keep it quite sharp
\nAs you fell one tree at a time,
\nAnd remember my name and use it quite often
\nAs the enemies step up in line.<\/p>\n
And so Guy chopped for the rest of his life,
\nAs each tree came tumbling down
\nAnd the prayers that he prayed day after day
\nNot a one was lost on the ground
\nAnd the enemy didn\u2019t stick around.<\/p>\n
Now I had the opportunity to meet this man,
\nwhen I was only a child
\nI knew there was something unique about him,
\nHe was amazingly humble and mild.<\/p>\n
Although of short stature, his hands were like steel,
\nAnd his back was as strong as could be
\nBut the most incredible thing was his voice,
\nLike thunder it sounded to me
\nA voice as deep as the sea.<\/p>\n
So Guy answered the call and he followed God\u2019s plan
\nAs he prayed with a loud voice each day,
\nAnd the trees that did fall were amazing to all
\nAnd the strongholds no longer did stay.
\nMany people were led in The Way!<\/p>\n
